We offer 11 rooms individually furnished in grand heritage style with high level of comfort. They are named after the famous British families of Bombay, the Parsis and the Bohras. A refined mix of heritage furniture fused with modern bathrooms and amenities will make your stay enjoyable.
The restaurant «The Verandah In The Forest» offers Indian and European fusion cuisine and some Parsi and Bohra specialities. Room service and private dinners are available on request.

Matheran was identified by Hugh Poyntz Malet, the then district collector of Thane district, in May 1850. It was Lord Elphinstone, the then Governor of Bombay, who laid the foundations of the development as a future hill station. The British developed Matheran as a famous location to beat the intense summer heat in the region.
Situated on the top of the Sahyadri ranges, Matheran can be accessed via toy train, horse-back, trekor in a palanquin. it is located on the Western Ghats range at a height of around 800 m (2,625 feet) above sea level. It is at a distance of 90 km from Mumbai, and 120 km from Pune.
Verandah In The Forest Matheran, which means “forest on the forehead” (of the mountains) is an eco-sensitive region, declared by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.
From Mumbai, we go to Navi Mumbai than to Panvel. We go into the Mumbai to Pune Expressway at Panvel, 8 km before we get out at Khopoli turnoff and get into the old Bombay Poona road. Then we turn to the left at place namely Chowk where a big green signboard shows that we ought to turn left for Matheran.
